Data Uploads

⚠️WARNING: We will no longer accept emailed files for upload starting Oct 5, 2022. On and after that date, the only methods for submitting data for upload will be described below:

Importing data into your Front Rush account is an important aspect of recruiting, and by understanding how it works, you can get the most out of your data!

How to Submit Data

  • New data import requests can be made by filling out and submitting the data request form below:

Data Form Considerations

  • This form only sends the data file to our Data Team for upload, it DOES NOT automatically upload the data into your account.

  • If you have access to more than one Sport in Front Rush, you can only send a file for one sport at a time.

  • You can only send a file for one Data Upload Category at a time. If you would like to upload to multiple Categories, this will require multiple data upload submissions.

Turnaround Time

  • Imports that are properly formatted and consolidated on a single tab can take up to 2-3 business days to complete.
  • Files submitted with multiple tabs or with poor formatting can take up to 4-5 business days to complete, depending on how the data has been provided.

Data File Requirements

⚠️WARNING: It is important to us that we preserve your data integrity. We will not upload the data to your account if we feel a file cannot be cleanly imported into your account (files with information scrapped from PDFs, merged cells, etc).

  • Acceptable file types are Excel (.xls, .xlsx) and CSV (.csv).
  • Files must have a header row (in the first row) where the field names in your data file should closely match the field names in Front Rush, so we know where to put the data.

  • Each row in your file must only include the data of (1) athlete/contact. Each column in your file must only include (1) specific field of data.
  • Any fields (columns) in your header row that are not in your Front Rush account will be created and the data uploaded.

NOTE: Please remove any fields or records from your data file that you do not want to be loaded into Front Rush.

  • Files with multiple tabs or the submission of multiple files can impact the turnaround time. We highly recommend consolidating your data into a single tab for import.

TIP: To learn how to speed up your imports and consolidate data, please reference our help video here: Speed Up Your Imports!

Overwrite or Fill In if Blank

  • By default, all imports use an OVERWRITE function that updates existing records’ fields in Front Rush with the data from your spreadsheet.
  • If you would like us to only FILL IN blank fields for existing recruits' profiles, please make sure to let us know in your email.

Roster Athletes

For roster uploads, we require the UIN (Student ID Number) for each athlete.

Recruit Athletes

For recruit uploads, we require the Graduation Year for each athlete.

In Front Rush, phone numbers are defaulted to the Phone Number field due to telephone carrier issues. This number CAN NOT be texted.

NOTE: If you would like to message the athletes you are importing, please explicitly label the mobile number in the import file!

Label the header: Cell Phone Number

Duplicate Matching

Sometimes the recruits you want to import are already in Front Rush, and you just want to update some of their information. But how do we know who is a duplicate versus a recruit on your list?

We do multiple phases of duplicate matching, and we use the following rules:

  1. The First Name and Last Name need to match EXACTLYand then (1) of the following:
    • Email Address
    • Phone Number
    • Cell Phone Number
    • Home Address 1
    • Graduation Year
    • Date of Birth
  2. The first letter of the First Name and the entire Last Name need to match EXACTLYand then (1) of the following:
    • Email Address
    • Phone Number
    • Cell Phone Number
    • Date of Birth

Matching Athletes to Schools

We do our best to match athletes to the schools you have in Front Rush. We do some fancy data clean-up to ensure schools named “Front Rush HS” and “Front Rush High School” can match.

The way we match schools is as follows:

  1. We always try to match the ETS code. Please provide the ETS code whenever possible.
  2. School Name and State, and then 1 of the following:
    • District
    • City
    • Address 1
    • Phone Number
    • Zip
  3. School Name and City, and then 1 of the following:
    • District
    • Address 1
    • Phone Number
    • Zip

⚠️WARNING: The biggest mistake we have seen is that coaches enter short names of schools, and do not include ETS codes. ETS codes are an essential item for matching schools!
