Managing Matriculated Student Data

General Information

Institutions manage FERPA compliance for matriculated students in different ways. Some institutions choose to remove subjective comments from student records prior to student matriculation and some leave the information intact in recruitment systems. Through standard Front Rush tools, you can manage when and which information you would like to remove from Front Rush.

Please note that all matriculated students should be moved from the Recruit section to the Roster in Front Rush. For schools that use the Front Rush Pass integration to share recruit data with Admissions, moving students from Recruit to Roster ensures that the data stops traveling in the integration. The information that moves with the student-athlete when they are moved to Roster is:

  • First Name
  • Last Name
  • Email Address
  • Home Address1
  • Home Address2
  • City
  • State
  • Zip
  • Contact Number
  • Cell Phone Number,
  • Status/Coach Comment
  • Position
  • Social Media Fields

This process must be completed in each sport.

To remove information from Front Rush:

  1. Click the Roster Tab.
  2. Check the checkbox next to each student you want to update.
  3. Select More and then Update above the checkboxes.
  4. For each field you would like to clear, enter a hyphen.

Note: Institutions are responsible for identifying those data points that they believe should be removed.

Example: Status/Coach Comment is often cleared out because it is a subjective comment.

  5. Scroll down to the bottom and select Update Athlete(s) on this Page.

The fields that you want updated now have a hyphen.

Note: You can also complete these steps in the Recruit section before moving them to the roster; however, the matriculated student data should reside in the Roster section of Front Rush.
