How to Avoid SPAM Filters
While there's no guaranteed way to prevent emails from going into a recipients SPAM folder, there are some common tips you can follow to help ensure those emails are delivered:
1. Using phrases like “Click here!” or “Once in a lifetime opportunity!”
2. Excessive use of exclamation points!!!!!!!!!
3. USING ALL CAPS, WHICH IS LIKE SCREAMING AT THE TOP OF YOUR LUNGS VIA EMAIL (especially in the subject line).
4. Using bright red or green colored fonts.
5. Using bad content. This one’s broad, but important.
6. Coding sloppy HTML, usually from converting a Microsoft Word file to HTML.
7. Creating an HTML email that’s nothing but one big image, with little or no text. Spam filters can’t read images, so they assume you’re a spammer trying to trick them.
